EMILY AHLEONG

Hello.  My name is Emily Ah Leong.  I am 16 years old and a Class of 2020 at W.E. Boswell High School in Fort Worth, Texas.  Volleyball is my passion and I play year-round; both indoor and beach.  2018 will be my 3rd season as a 6-rotation Pin Hitter for the Varsity Team at Boswell;  his will also be my first as Captain. Last season we advanced to & won our UIL Area. However, this past club season, I made a transition to Libero for 16 Mizuno Ray.  I trained at 692 Beach, as a member of their National Team, but will now train for both indoor and sand at Texas Image.

While I have always played as an OH and will continue to do so for my school team, my transition to Libero in club is for my continued growth with the USAV HP Program.  I've been selected to the A1 program for five years (3 as OH and 2 as Libero).  My speed and athleticism help me as an all-around player and the USA coaches have insured my success as a Libero. I was selected as Captain for the GSNT Red Team, where we won Bronze as the 2017 HP Championships in the International Junior Division.

I have done very well in the sand, too.  In fact, I was honored have been selected to the "2016 JVA Beach Watch List". One of only 30, nation-wide.  I play many tournaments across the country and love the competitiveness of the game!

Academics are very important to me.  I currently maintain a 4.4 GPA, ranking among the top of my class of 531 students.  I am now taking pre-AP and AP classes in high school.   Math and Science are my best subjects. My desire is to study Forensics in college, in pursuit of a career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

I stay busy with a heavy extra-curricular schedule. In addition to volleyball, I am a member of the Track & Field team, Choir, and a member of the National Honor Society.  I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to music, and I love cats!
